The aims and purposes of the Centre

  1. to promote studies on the history of the Teutonic Order in the Mediterranean;
  2. to launch interdisciplinary research projects with scientific institutions of the states where the Teutonic Order was present (Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Greece, Turkey, Israel and Spain) and in particular with the International Historical Commission for the Research on the Teutonic Order Order (Vienna);
  3. to promote the recovery, conservation and enhancement of archaeological and artistic remains of the Teutonic Order in the Mediterranean;
  4. to publish sources on the history of the Teutonic Order in the Mediterranean;
  5. to promote the divulgation of results of research on the history of the Teutonic Order

The Centre is responsible for the collection of bibliographic information, organizes seminars and conferences, serves as a connection point between researchers, academic institutions and editors, supports and encourages research and publication, with particular attention payed to the work of young researchers.
